Above-Normal Temperatures Favored Across Most of the US Next Week

Region

6-10 Day Temperatures

From November 5th to 9th, temperatures are at least modestly favored to run warmer than normal for this time of year across the entire contiguous United States. The chances climb higher farther north, reaching above 70 percent from the Northern Plains into the northwestern Great Lakes, while they sit closer to 40 percent over the southern states. Mainland and Southeast Alaska are also likely to be warmer than normal, though the Aleutians lean cooler. Most of Hawaii should see warmer conditions too, with westernmost areas closer to normal. Overall confidence in this temperature outlook is about average.

Region

6-10 Day Precipitation

During the same November 5th to 9th period, wetter than normal conditions are favored in the Northeast, most of the Appalachians, the Mid-Atlantic, and nearby parts of the Southeast, with the best chances (over 40 percent) along the northern Atlantic Coast. Farther west, above-normal precipitation odds rise from the Southwest into the Central Plains, topping 50 percent over the southernmost Plains including most of Texas. The West Coast and central to eastern Alaska also lean wetter, with the strongest chances (over 40 percent) stretching from southeastern Mainland Alaska into the coastal Pacific Northwest. Hawaii has a slight tilt toward wetter weather as well. Confidence here is about average.

8-14 Day Temperatures

Looking ahead to November 7th to 13th, warmer than normal temperatures remain favored across most of the contiguous United States except in the South Atlantic region, where near-normal conditions are more likely amid greater uncertainty. The highest chances, greater than 70 percent, sit over the north-central part of the country. Most of Alaska is expected to stay warmer than normal for an extended stretch, with probabilities exceeding 60 percent along the eastern Mainland and Southeast Alaska. Hawaii is also favored to be warmer than normal. Confidence in this outlook is about average.

Region

8-14 Day Precipitation

From November 7th to 13th, an active pattern is likely along much of the West Coast, with odds for above-normal precipitation exceeding 40 percent in the Pacific Northwest. This fits into a broader area of increased precipitation chances stretching from southwestern Canada southward along the western tier of the country into southern and central sections of the Rockies and Plains. On the other side, below-normal precipitation chances rise somewhat from the Northern Plains into the Upper Mississippi Valley and interior eastern United States. Eastern Alaska may see an active period, while a small part of southwestern Mainland Alaska leans slightly drier. Hawaii has a weak tilt toward wetter conditions. Confidence remains about average.
