Isolated Severe Storms Possible Along Texas Coast and in Arizona
Nationwide
A quiet day is expected across much of the United States, with only limited areas facing a chance of stronger storms. Isolated severe weather remains possible along the middle Texas coast and across central into southern Arizona. Scattered thunderstorms could also develop in parts of the Plains, Midwest, Rockies, West Coast, and Florida, but these are not expected to turn severe.
Texas Coast
Along the middle Texas coast, a few stronger storms could form today. The main concern is the chance of a brief tornado with any storm that becomes organized. Residents in this area should stay weather-aware and be ready to take shelter if conditions worsen quickly this afternoon or evening.
Arizona
In central and southern Arizona, isolated thunderstorms are expected to redevelop this afternoon. A few of these storms could produce strong winds or small hail. The activity should remain scattered, but anyone outdoors in these areas may want to keep an eye on the sky as the storms move through.
Plains and Midwest
Scattered thunderstorms are possible across a broad stretch of the central United States, including parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and neighboring states. These storms are not expected to become severe, but brief heavy rain and lightning could still disrupt outdoor plans for a short time.
Western States
Farther west, general thunderstorms may develop from California and the Pacific Northwest into the Rockies and Intermountain West. Activity in states such as Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Oregon should stay mostly light, with no widespread severe weather anticipated. Overall, the day remains manageable for most people as long as they stay informed about local conditions.
