No Severe Thunderstorm Areas Forecast as Isolated Storms Linger in West Texas
Nationwide
Severe thunderstorms are not expected across the United States today. While isolated storms will develop in a few spots, the overall potential for organized severe weather remains low. Most places should see quiet conditions or only ordinary thunderstorms if any form at all.
Far West Texas
Isolated thunderstorms are already ongoing near the Davis Mountains in far west Texas this afternoon. A strong thunderstorm or two could still develop in this area later today. Impacts should stay limited, and the chance of anything organized or widespread remains quite low.
Southeast New Mexico
Similar isolated storms continue near the Sacramento Mountains in southeastern New Mexico. A stronger storm is possible here as well this afternoon, but conditions do not favor widespread severe weather. Residents can expect any storms to remain scattered and short-lived.
Plains and Rockies
General thunderstorms are possible across a broad stretch of the Plains and Rockies, including parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and neighboring states. These storms are not expected to become severe. Most will bring brief rain and maybe some lightning before moving on.
Other Areas
A few other states from the northern Plains into the Upper Midwest, along with spots in the West and Florida, also carry a general thunderstorm risk. Again, these should stay ordinary with no organized severe threat. Overall, today looks quiet for most of the country with only limited storm activity.
