No Severe Thunderstorms Expected Across the US Through Tonight
Nationwide
Severe thunderstorms are not expected anywhere across the United States through tonight. While some areas will see ordinary thunderstorms, the overall risk of damaging winds, large hail, or tornadoes remains very low. Most people can go about their evening plans without major storm concerns.
Central Plains
A few stronger storms are possible later this evening across portions of the central Plains. The main concern is limited to sporadic small hail that should stay below severe levels, especially across parts of Kansas and southern Nebraska. These storms are not expected to become widespread or particularly strong.
Great Lakes
Thunderstorm activity has already been trimmed back behind a cold front over the Lower Great Lakes and Ohio Valley. Any remaining storms in this region should stay relatively weak and isolated. Residents in these areas can expect calmer conditions as the front continues to move through.
Southern Plains
Thunderstorms are possible across parts of the Southern Plains, including areas of Texas, Oklahoma, and nearby states. These storms are expected to remain in the general thunderstorm category without reaching severe levels. Localized brief heavy rain or gusty winds are the main things to watch for if storms develop.
Western States
Ordinary thunderstorms are also possible across portions of the West, including California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. No severe weather is forecast in these areas. Most storms should stay isolated and produce only brief rain and occasional lightning.
